THURISAZ Parts Ways With Bassist

November 27, 2008

Belgium-based metallers THURISAZ have issued the following update:

"We regret to announce the departure of our bass player Lars [Vereecke], due to reasons that will stay within the band. Lars has been around since the very beginning and together we've been through many highlights. We want to thank him for all the good times and laughter and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. A new bass player will be announced later.

"Thanx a lot to Jo from OCEANS and SADNESS to fill in on the last gig, you did a great job!

"Other news: our drummer ripped his anterior cruciate ligament (yeah, yeah, medical terms) and will be out for a few months. Hopefully he'll be fully operational again (read: be able to play drums) around January. We wish him all luck with the revalidation! Meanwhile we're still writing new songs for our third album, which should be released in the second half of 2009."

THURISAZ had its 2004 debut album, "Scent of a Dream", reissued in April through Shiver Records. The album was remastered and contains an acoustic live version of "Years of Silence" as the bonus track.

THURISAZ' second full-length album, "Circadian Rhythm", was released last year via Shiver.
